BOTANICAL JEWELLERY FROM THE AMAZON
EXHIBITION "NEUE WILDE" ("NEW SAVAGES")
extended for another year until 31.12.2023

On occasion of the yearly Botanic Garden Week, this year's exhibition of the
Association of Botanic Gardens
focusses on invasive plants. Entitled Neue Wilde - Globalisierung in der Pflanzenwelt (= New Savages - Gobalisation in the plant world), participating botanic gardens present the manifold problems and challenges posed by introduced plant species, which have made Germany or other parts of the world their new home.
WHAT IS THERE TO SEE?
There are 14 large-format posters explaining everything worth knowing about how plants invaded new countries and what characteristics plant species and habitats have that facilitate invasion. The role which botanic and private gardens have played in the introduction of such neophytes is also discussed. The 14 posters explaining this topic are complimented by 36 profile posters of individual plant species which have become "New Savages" here or in other parts of the world.
(Please note, this exhibition is in German only)
WHERE DO I FIND THE EXHIBITION?
The 14 large-format posters are displayed opposite the north-end of the Chinese Garden. The invidiual profile posters are placed in appropriate places across the Botanic Garden.
EXHIBITION BOOK

The book accompanying the exhibition Neue Wilde can be purchased from the botanic garden reception for 8,00 €.
