The Botanic Garden of Ruhr University Bochum is a key partner in research and teaching and is closely integrated into national and international scientific networks. With its greenhouses, cultivation areas and one of the largest scientific plant collections in Germany, it offers an indispensable infrastructure for research, teaching and public relations. As a living gene bank, it preserves valuable plant species from all over the world and thus actively contributes to the conservation of genetic resources. In addition to its importance for science and teaching, the garden makes an important contribution to the preservation of biological diversity and the networking of science and the public through a wide range of collaborations and memberships.
