GARDEN ETIQUETTE & RULES
When visiting us, please bear in mind that the Botanic Garden is private property of the Ruhr-University Bochum. It first and foremost serves research and education. Therefore, visitors have to abide by the following rules:

| 1) | Vistors enter the Botanic Garden at their own risk |
| 2) | Do not leave the paths, no stepping into beds or seemingly empty areas |
| 3) | No picking or collecting of plants, flowers, fruits or mushrooms |
| 4) | Dogs only outdoors and on a short lead - no dogs inside the display glasshouses |
| 5) | Children unter 12 must be accompanied by an adult - no climbing! The garden ponds pose a risk of drowning |
| 6) | Bicycles must be pushed - no e-scooters, skateboards etc. |
| 7) | No private events (e.g. weddings, birthday parties) without permission |
| 8) | No BBQs |
| 9) | No alcohol, no drugs |
| 10) | No ball games |
| 11) | No drones |
| 12) | No commercial activities without permission |
| 13) | Professional photography and filming only with permission (see "Photography & Filming") |
| 14) | No displaying of posters or distribution of flyers without permission |
| 15) | Instructions by garden staff must be followe |

Closed from 23 Dec 2024 until 06 Jan 2025 (University-wide energy saving measure) as well as during storms and icy conditions

- Dogs are allowed outdoors but only on the lead
